Experiments - Time Lapse

Experiment 3
Below is a Youtube video showing a time lapse I created. This is initially a sped up piece of footage, generally turning something from running for an hour to someone which lasts a few seconds.

I created this by setting up my camera in my back garden, and filmed the sunset over the garden fence, this allowed me to contain some trees. For this to be completed I did nothing to the camera set up, only using a tripod to keep the camera steady. Once it was finished I  took the footage into Adobe Premiere. Once I'd done this I selected the footage, right clicked and changed the speed of the footage by pressing Speed / Time and then changing the 100% to 2000%. This rapidly sped up all the footage, making it several seconds long instead of an hour long.

Experiments - Drumming

Experiment 2
Below is a Youtube video showing a example of drumming I may use in my final video.
I created this by going out, and filming myself playing Taiko drums. Doing nothing to the camera set up other than put it on a tripod and allowing it to film. To start with I took the footage into Adobe Premiere, once I'd done this I selected the footage and positioned it properly on the time line. Below is a screenshot showing this process

Experiments - Slow motion

Experiment 1
Below is a Youtube video showing a slow motion experiment of my dog running.
I created this by going out, and filming my puppy running. Doing nothing to the camera set up other than put it on a tripod and allowing it to film, once I got home I did what was required to make slow-motion footage. To start with I took the footage into Adobe Premiere, once I'd done this I selected the footage, right clicked and changed the speed of the footage by pressing Speed / Time and then changing the 100% to 200%. This in fact slowed the footage down.

To get a better effect on my test footage, and to also experiment with colour, hues and the level in Adobe Premiere I added a variety of clip changers and then changed the setting in a drop-down menu. Below is a screenshot of the drop-down menu.

Pinterest Boards

Below are screenshots and links to my Pinterest board. The link can be found here.

The reason as to why I created a Pinterest board was to collect ideas and inspiration. By doing this it will give me a reference to refer back to when it comes to prop ideas, costume ideas, location and setting ideas and even shot ideas.

Music Video Analysis 5

The Prodigy - Omen

Omen by The Prodigy was published on the 16 of February in 2009, it was the first single from the album Invaders Must Die. This recognizable song lends itself to the alternative rock, and the electronic rock genre.

Currently hitting 19,673,210 Youtube views and counting, the song and music video has become very popular with it's targeted audience. Once again there is little to no visual, illustrated or amplified relationship between the video and the song lyrics. The video mainly contains footage of the band playing live and not much more.

Something else which is also rather limited within this music video is the use of footage linking to the beat.Unlike most other popular videos their isn't choreographed dancing or a specific narrative. This is a linking theme throughout most of The Prodigy's work; little narrative and fast cut clips. Although there isn't dancing linked with the tempo of the music video one thing which is present is the use of edits and effects overlaying each piece of footage. A few of these effects being a flickering, or fish eye lens effect. These effects efficiently amplify the song without the audience actually realizing.

Although the genre of music can change how a music video is recorded and clips presented, the conventions of a rock video aid in the stage performance of a the band. Like most metal videos the band members would normally be the main focus, and this is consistent throughout this video

Something else which has been done specifically by the director is the creation of a star image to promote the band. The music video mainly consists of close-up shots of the lead singer but also of the other band members.
